Watching a child take his first steps after months of therapy is indescribable. Hearing a youth say they are no longer intending suicide, brings a collective sigh of relief to an entire network of school and family. Seeing a loved one regain mobility after illness or traumatic injury is nothing short of miraculous.
NMET is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit outpatient rehabilitation facility. We harness the unique healing power of horses as a therapeutic tool in occupational therapy (hippotherapy) and our specially developed mental health program, HorseSense®.
These magnificent creatures bring hope when all seems lost. We have seen amazing response with clients meeting their goals in significantly less time than with traditional therapy.
Individuals who have not found success with other treatment options
often succeed beyond expectations at NMET.

BEYOND THERAPY
For many of our clients, their experience with NMET goes beyond therapy. They grow to love their therapy horse, gain trust in their therapist and volunteers, and feel like they are part of the NMET family.
Stepping into the NMET barn, clients and families feel warmly welcomed, connected and supported. Our therapy sessions often provide a time of respite for family, many of whom suffer from caregiver fatigue.
